Rural people tend to eat at home - this is often their place of work as well. There are things like truck stops for the truckers just travelling the highway and non-franchised restaurants for tourists in most of these places. No one in their right mind drives all the way to Mackenzie BC just to eat in yet another junk food, eat it on the fly type restaurant. In fact, I know of people who go there just to get away from that rat race stuff.

Hi, I am asking this question for my brothers girlfriend who is 34wks3days pregnant with their first child. She has been experiencing contractions (cramping and extreme belly tightning) since about 10 last night. We took her to the hospital and they said she was contracting about every 5-8 minutes but after being there for about 3 hours there was no cervical change. (She was 1 cm dialated and 50% effaced when she checked in) So, they told us that the contractions weren't too worrisome because her cervix was not rapidly changing, However; now that we are back home the contractions are becoming a bit stronger and she is starting to feel very uncomfortable. She also has heavy discharge which is a new symptom today, and also the baby has not been moving as much at all! The nurse who checked her last night said the baby is in position and the head is very low. Her belly measures 35 and a half weeks. We would like to take her back to the hospital but...they told us only to return if the contractions get closer together or if her water breaks. She tried to nap but was even to uncomfortable for that. She is also very very uncomfortable with extreme "pitting edema", they said that her blood pressure was a little elevated but not to the point of total concern ( it was 167 over 78). We are a little worried and not sure what to do or when to panic...we don't want her to have to go back up to get sent home again with the same story as before.( we live over an hour from the hospital) Anyones info or personal experience or clinical experience is so greatly appreciated! We only want a happy healthy momma and baby boy (Ethan Lee). Thanks so much from the bottom of our hearts!

31 weeks an in pain!?

Ok so am 31 weeks with my second child. Wiv my first I was diagnosed wiv sciatica at around 30 wks, but it is stayed even after pregnancy n is worse durin this pregnancy which I have now been diagnosed as havin PGP (pelvic girdle pain) last nyt in bed I ***** turn over without havin to physically lif my left leg to ease pain, I was close to tears! How can I help my 21 month old son feel better, he's sick now?

My husband caught a form of bacterial bronchitis from some people he works with, and now our son has some chest and sinus congestion with a slight fever. I have been giving him andehist (per nurses orders), alternating with tylenol for the fever and keeping him cool with a damp cloth on his head occasionally, suctioning his nose but are there any other steps I can take to help him get/feel better faster? He looks so pitiful, I feel so bad.

I am usually a very calm person. I keep myself calm by holding in most of my emotions but every few years I blow up. I don't know what to do. I blew up at only one person for years. I am a die hard Canon Fan I have the 10D which is the big brother to the Rebel. Several newspaper reporters I know that do their own photography use the Rebel. It is a good stable platform to build on. The optics for the Rebel are awesome they range from very short macro lenses to the several hundred MM zoom lens. My Toddler is afraid of his shoes?

My son is 16 months and before had no problem wearing shoes, but in the last month he has become terrified. When I put lil boots or shoes on him and stand him up he refuses to walk, and he stands very still shaking and screaming and crying and reaching for me. I am not sure what to do, when he doesnt have footwear on he is just fine walking around but as soon as I put any type of footwear on him he becomes terrified and wont calm down till i take them back off.

i would not worry about it then. if it persists for over a week or other symptoms show up blood in stoles loss of appatite vomiting sever abdomenal pain then maybe go see a doctor. i have pains in that area a lot most of the time its trapped gas or constipation. a good idea even though disgusting is to look at the stoles and examine the color/shape. from what doctors have told me dark black stoles are the worrisome kind.

How do I deal with catty women who run a facility to accomodate special needs kids?

I have a child that goes to a facility for therapies and schooling. She has a multiple list of disabilities and I have had such trouble with keeping lines of communication open. My child does not speak and I seem to have to ask over and over for specifics on her day, inquired on addtional meeings and keeping better track of her issues. I either DONT get a response, or its miminual or they try to change what has been done for quite a while. During meeting, I have been spoken to like I was a chid, slowly headed towards disrespect, demeaning and patronizing. It slowly evolves to that and by the time I realzied exactly what happened it was too late. Initally I was stunned that I was event treated like that. Just because I dont have the kind of background in experience and education, I am still a mother of a extreme special needs child. My 3 year old Malamute killed my neighbors chihuaha what should I do? ?

So on sunday, my husband and I took the kids and our two female dogs ( 3yr old malamute and 5 yr old american eskimo) for a nice walk. When we came home my husband took our dogs leashes off to get them in the back yard, when all the sudden my neighbor's 2 chihuahua mix came running to attack my smaller american eskimo, and then my malamute took charge and went to defend her,( this was all very scary and surprising to me because my malamute is the swetest dog, she loves people and was never aggresive to other dogs, although she has killed rats and opossums, but never showed any signs of aggresion to other dogs). Anyway the fight like you may have expect didn't end up good, the lil chuhuaha that my malamute fought got what we saw at the time a punture wound that our neighbor said it could be bandaged, both me and my husband apologized to him, and he also said it was his fault for not having his dogs on a leash. I called him on monday morning to ask how his dog was doing and he said that she was in pain but seemed ok, then I get a call today from him saying that he ended up having to put her down, because apperantly the lining for her intestines had ruptured along with some other internal injuries that would had cost him over 2500 to try to save her life which the vet said that may have not even save her. I feel soo incredibly bad about this, I cannot believe my dog did this, I offered to help as much as I could to help him pay the vet bill that was $250 but other than that I don't know what else to do.... Should I have some kind of recipt for the money I give hin, just in case he tries to sue? My husband says that even if he did he wouldn't win because it was his dogs that attacked our dogs.. Is it worth it to go to college?

I'm about to graduate this year with a high school diploma and an AA degree from a community college (I did dual enrollment/both high school and community college at the same time). My AA is basically just general education because half of the electives/prerequisites are just random because I wanted to try out different cles to try to figure out what career i wanted to do and the other half of my electives/prerequisites are for marketing because I just settled for that when I realized I didn't like any college majors. I am starting to rethink college though, because I HATE community college and can't imagine 2 or 4 more years of cles. I've done TONS of research on TONS of majors and occupations, yet I have NO pion for any college major or career. After watching Republicans argue over the [universal] healthcare bill stating that it should not include funding for abortion, I did some research. Turns out that abortions are high in the south, where religion and poverty are rampant. Turns out there is a direct correlation between crime and abortion rates. Areas with high abortion rates have less crime because the typical woman who has an abortion is a single person who cannot afford to raise her child. Furthermore, single mother children are 50% more likely to be involved in criminal activity. I just find it ironic that Republican senate representatives would argue over [universal] healthcare being bad because it includes funding for abortions...while the lack of abortions leads to more crime..which in turn leads to more government spending and unpleasant living due to higher crime rates. Elected officials should concentrate on what is good for society, not their religious beliefs, especially when the most religious areas happen to be poor and have high abortion rates, don't you think?

My parents don't respect me, how can I get respect?

Whenever I try to talk to my parents, my mum is always drunk and my father just sits there starring at the TV or computer screen with out turning around and looking at me for more then a second. in a perfect world LEDs but they're more expensive and they don't work well in most situations. You can't put them in a lamp or in a chandelier because they are too small. The only place i know you deffinately should get LEDs is christmas lights, they produce a lot of heat for their size and that causes fires not to mention they save electricity and look cool. Fluorescent light bulbs also contain a small amount of mercury making them a pain to get rid of when they burn out, also some take a few minutes to get bright enough.

Renault Scenic 1.6 Does not run smmothly in low gears.?

My Renault Scenic does not run smoothly in low gears.Have tried plugs leads and boxes. Has been scanned twice and no fault shows.Engine not noisy or sluggish.We can trace the start of the fault down to when the timing belt was changed but this has been checked and is perfect. Two different garages now do not know what the problem is. Car pulls off fine and then could start chugging until you take foot off the accelorator then you can gradually spped up and it is usually ok. Only happens in 1st or 2nd gears. Any advice please.

Make flashcards of the verbs (don't put the verb on both sides, use only one side). You can play memory, go fish, or just time him to see how long it takes to go through all the verbs (kids usually love trying to do things as fast as they can). You can also use the flashcards while playing board games. Before he gets to go, he has to pick a card, say the verb, say the past tense, and use it in a sentence. It's great for him to hear you play too, so you can model. I also play a version of tic tac toe with my kids. In each square, I write a verb, and before my student can put an X or O, he must say the past tense and say it in a sentence. Try Mad Libs! This will also help with other parts of speech. 2003 Ford Expedition Problem?

So, my truck has been having some problems and I'm trying to figure out what it is before I change anything. The rundown is that it wont start right away with the first turn of the ignition, takes the second or third time for it to start. It also tends to idle (at times) while driving. Like if its going to turn off. Also, the relays are getting really hot to the touch. Hot enough to where you cant grab it with your bare hands. To be specific, the relay location is R203, the fuse amp rating is PCM relay, and the fuse panel description is fuse #32, fuse #33 and fuse #34which is fuel pump relay, PCM solenoids and sensors. So friends have told us to change the fuel filter first cause that might be clogged. Did that yesterday and the truck started on the first turn of the ignition. Sounded great. Took for a spin and checked the relays and where still getting very hot. Let the truck sit for an hour or two, then went to start it and now it doesn't want to start. When I turn the ignition it makes a buzzing sound, coming from the penger side. What could this be? could it be the fuel pump now or something major? Please help. I have not driven the truck cause i am scared the relays will catch fire. I mean, is that possible? Thanks so much.

Why won't my s-10 blazer 4.3L TBI start?

well here's the tale: i was offroading with a friend after i had just done a fresh tune-up (spark plugs, wires, distributor cap/rotor, fuel filter, air filter - the whole shibang) well after about an hour or two of offroading we decided to call it quits for the night. mind you the truck ran wonderfully before and during the adventure. well i came to a stop, kicked it into neutral, and dropped it back into 2wd. the second i put it into gear again it stalled out. no big deal, i just turned it back on. Soon as i did i noticed my engine was incredibly sluggish. Accelerator pedal to the floor would give me little more than an idle and eventually it would build up in RPM's and speed. next morning i went to check on it and it had a loose spark plug wire. plugged it back and started it and it ran fine in idle so i let it run to check over the truck for any other signs of issues. within 10 minutes it stalled out and hasn't ran since. i've checked the fuel delivery its spitting fuel. spark plugs are good and spark. plenty of air and gas in the tank but she won't start. it turns over but the second you go to give it a little bit of gas via the pedal it bogs down to a halt and then eventually goes back to turning over normally until you give it more gas. i've changed out an injector (autozone only had one on hand for some reason) and it didn't make much difference. someone help me! thanks

i had an ultrasound done about a month and a half ago. the doctor said i had a hydrocele, and he didnt see anything that looked like cancer, 2 weeks went by and no relief, i went back to the doctor and said it was varicocele. no relief still went back to the doctor and had bloodwork done and nothing was abnormal. now my right testicle is aching, swollen and a vein has formed on it. does anybody have any idea?

Sorry to tell you, this is a serious condition. With all sincerity, you need to get him to a rep vet ASAP. No amount of advice you get on Q & A, no matter how experienced the answerer is, and or what advice he/she offers can ensure the health of your turtle. This is a symptom of malnutrition and/or lighting problems and is past the prevention stage and now in the chronic stage. If you can't find a rep vet in your area, send a message via my profile of where you live, and I will see what I can find. I have kept hundreds of turtles as pets. Please trust me on this one for the sake of your turtle. Only highly experienced turtle keepers can help you on this one (and it takes even more than a two page answer). With all my years experience, even I would take him/her to a rep vet. I know this is not what you want to hear, but it's the truth. Penalties after an NHL game is over?

Yesterday when the Anaheim Ducks played the Detroit Red Wings there were a bunch of penalties essed at 20:00 of the third period. After the 2 off-setting pairs of fighting majors, the Ducks ended up with 2 minor penalties and 2 game-misconducts. I ume that the minor penalties will not be carried over, but what about the game misconducts? They would normally be kicked out of the game, but the game was over, so what happens? Does Detroit get screwed over and not get any advantage from it? Or does Anaheim get gypped and have to play without 2 of their best players for game 7? Either way it seems a bit like someone is getting screwed, but after watching this series it seems like Detroit deserves a break. I couldn't find anything in the rule book about what happens with misconducts after the game is over, so I figured someone on here might know. Thanks.
