Do you have to wear anything special to test out a horse? (like breeches/ tall boots)?

I'm looking to buy my first horse and I'm going to test out 3 or 4 on Sunday...Do I have to wear anything special like breeches, tall boots or a nice helmet or will jeans, half chaps, a hoodie and my troxel be ok?
