Why did the early Christians accept Jesus came from God yet modern Christians think Jesus was God?

Because Christianity has been perverted over the years. First Saul the Traitor injected all his own personal prejudices; then the Romans got their hands on it; and every so often another new Church springs up, claiming to be following the original teachings of Jesus.
